Always watch your dog in the pool. Don't leave them unsupervised near water.
Supervise Swimming
Train dogs to use stairs or ramps. Don't let them jump into pools.
Teach Safe Entry/Exit
Fence your pool or install a safety cover for protection when not swimming.
Install Fence
Dogs can slip on wet surfaces. Keep pool decks tidy and install mats.
Remove Slip Hazards
Not all dogs like the water. Never throw dogs in pools or force them to swim.
Don't Force Swimming
Towel dry your dog when exiting to prevent chilling. Blow dry their coat if needed.
Dry After Swimming
Some dogs chew/ingest pool toys. Remove toys except during supervised play.
Avoid Pool Toys
