Proper Etiquette Around a Service Dog?

Never pet a service dog without the owner's permission, as you may break their focus.

Don't Pet Without Asking

Do not offer service dogs food even if they seem interested, as it can upset their diet.

Don't Feed Them

Taking photos of working service dogs without asking is inappropriate.

Don't Photograph Them

Avoid quick movements, loud noises or yelling that could break a service dog's concentration.

Don't Startle Them

Provide ample space between you and a service dog team in public. Don't crowd them.

Give Them Space

Never touch, move or grab a service dog's vest, leash, backpack or other gear.

No Touching Gear
