Don't crowd dogs or put your face close to them. Give them personal space.
Give Space
Learn to read dog body language. Growling or tense postures signal discomfort.
Watch the Signs
Never take a toy or food away from a dog. This is threatening behavior to them.
No Take Toys
Avoid petting unfamiliar dogs while sitting or lying down. It's less threatening to stand.
